Game Of Love

The next few months were quite hectic for Sofia as she rejoined her studies. Celestine had become quite a handful and needed constant attention when she was awake. So Sofia struggled between her and her studies constantly. Davion handled Celestine very well and sang and danced for her making her roll with laughter. He spoiled her rotten and the nursery was already bursting with baby toys of all shapes and sizes. In fact the whole house was filled with her baby things! 

So after her assessments Sofia heaved a sigh of relief. "Vicky's delivery is next week, Davion. I want to go to Las Vegas for a few days, " said Sofia. In the past few months, Victoria had recovered from her mental trauma, thanks to the exceptionally good therapist she consulted. 

"Sure, we can all go. In fact, Colton and I were planning to go to Las Vegas next week as Colton has scheduled a grand event at one of our casinos there. 

Sofia was instantly suspicious of his statement. Why would Colton keep a grand event next week at Las Vegas of all places? "That's awesome then. I'm not telling Vicky anything. We'll surprise her and see her baby when it's born," said Sofia. Victoria told everyone that someone took advantage of her inebriated state and she got pregnant and that the father of the child denied everything and refused to take responsibility. She however, didn't inform anyone that the person was Colton's friend. So no one questioned her any further and she went ahead with her pregnancy in peace. 

"Yes, start packing. Don't tell your parents. They wouldn't be able to keep it away from Vicky, " laughed Davion. Sofia smiled too. It was true anyway. While her dad was angry and wanted to report to the police, he eventually accepted the fact that their hands were tied and they couldn't do a thing about it. 

However, two days later, Victoria gave birth to a baby boy and named him Asher. Her mom called to give her the good news while they were sitting at the dining table for dinner. Even Colton was with them. "Congratulations, mom," said Sofia. Colton listened intently as she spoke. 

"Turn on the speaker mode," said Davion. Sofia did as he asked her to do.

"Congratulations mom. We're coming down in a day or two," said Davion, making Sofia's eyes widen with shock. He was the one who had suggested not to tell them and now he himself couldn't keep it in. 

"Really? That's the third good news I heard today," said her mom. 

"What's the second good news, mom?" Asked Sofia with rounded eyes. As far as she was aware there were only these two pieces of news that were good.

"Oh, Vicky hasn't told you?" Gushed her mom. 

"No, mom. What's it? You're killing us, " groaned Sofia with curiosity. 

"Trevor has proposed to Vicky today. He wants to marry her and be a dad to baby Asher! Isn't that the most exciting news of all?" Asked her mom excitedly. 

"Who's Trevor?" Asked Sofia with horror.

"Trevor's the one who treated her for so many months. He's her Therapist," said her mom. 

"F*ck him," swore Colton as he got up angrily and stormed out of the house as if a tornado was chasing him. 

"Who was that, Sofi? What happened?" Asked her mom with confusion. 

"Nothing mom. So has Vicky agreed to marry Trevor?" She asked curiously. 

"She hasn't said no," said her mom in a smug tone. 

"She hasn't said yes too," pointed out Davion. 

"Oh she'll marry him," said her mom. Although Sofia had her doubts, she preferred not to say anything before speaking to Victoria. 

After five days, they boarded the flight to Las Vegas. Colton had already gone the night he heard about Trevor's proposal. To do what? No one knew.

"So? Are you excited, my love?" Asked Davion. Sofia smiled at him but her heart was thumping wildly at the prospect of meeting her family after so many months. 

"Yes. I'll always be excited when I'm with you," she winked and to her horror, Celestine too winked or attempted to wink!

"God! How did she learn so soon?" Asked a shocked Sofia. Davion laughed. 

"I knew since the day I was born. So it's in the genes, you see," he said and Sofia slapped him on his arm.

"No wonder you were a player and I hated you at first sight," pointed out Sofia with a smile on her face. She knew how that hate turned into love soon after marriage. 

"I was a player but I was defeated in my own game of love. I fell for my prey and that prey was you," he told her and she rolled her eyes. 

"I felt like a prey. You really were an...," she was interrupted by him.

"I know. Insufferable d *ck, right?" He laughed. 

"You still remember that nickname I gave you on our first meeting?" Asked Sofia with a laugh. Davion rolled his eyes.

"How can I forget? It attracted me to you more than anything else, " he laughed. 

"That horrid nickname attracted you? God! You're impossible!" Said Sofia with a laugh. Even Celestine laughed and giggled, her baby blue eyes fixed upon them. 

"I was attracted to you since the day Liam sent me your picture. I think he deliberately played matchmaker to get us together," said Davion suspiciously. Sofia chuckled at the possibility. 

"Then we should treat Liam and Lisa for uniting us for life," said Sofia with a satisfied grin. Davion agreed. 

"Yeah but we should but first let's deal with Vicky," said Davion, getting a little serious. Sofia nodded. It was true. While their love story kept on growing stronger with each passing day, Vicky's life was turning into the likes of a Hollywood blockbuster movie. They needed to sort it out and get it on the right track!
