Chapter Twelve
"You can stop the drama, Mr Torres. I can walk," she gritted out, as they reached the huge ornate doors to his mansion.
"You will continue with the act, Mrs Torres," ordered Davion as the door opened and he walked in like a king. Sofia's mouth hung open seeing the regal welcome that they were receiving. There were uniformed attendants and employees lined up in front of them, showering rose petals upon them to welcome them. Davion set her down and smiled warmly at all of them.
"Welcome home, Mr and Mrs Torres, " they said one by one.
"Thank you. Meet Sofia, my dearest wife," he announced, introducing them one by one.
Sofia smiled warmly at them although she soon forgot their names. "Nice to meet all of you. Give me a few days to learn your names," she said with a smile. All the workers looked happily at her.
"Sure, ma'am, " said one of them who was middle aged and looked like she was the one in charge of everyone.
"Greta, is my room ready?" Davion asked the middle-aged woman. Sofia was immediately on high alert. What about her room? The middle-aged woman called Greta smiled at Davion.
"Yes, Davion. I had it cleaned and readied. By the way dinner is ready too," she informed them.
"Thanks, that would be all. All of you can take the evening off. You can report to work after two days, that is on Monday, " he announced. Everyone looked immensely happy and thanked him profusely while Greta smiled knowingly. Sofia stared blankly at everything going on around her. Why did he release his workforce for two days? Her head reeled thinking of being alone with him in such a huge mansion.
"Thank you, Davion. You can call me if you need me, " said Greta and ushered each and everyone of them outside. They all gave Sofia knowing looks and giggled amongst themselves and rushed outside with their stuff. Davion closed the doors after the last one of them had left.
Then he turned slowly towards Sofia. "Do you need to freshen up before dinner?" He asked her, coming closer and staring at her.
"I'm not hungry. Just show me to my room and I'll retire for the night," she shrugged with a scowl. Now that they were finally alone, she would show him how displeased she really was with him. Davion took a step closer to her. However, before she could back away, he caught her hand. Sofia tried to wrench her hand free of his hold but was unable to do so.
"I'm not accepting that at all, Sofia. You will eat with me after freshening up. I'll show you to the washroom," he said, leading her up the staircase. In her state of anger and confusion, she hardly saw where he was leading her to. She tried to extricate her hand from his hold but couldn't.
"If you don't stop, I'll carry you there," he threatened, his eyes glittering with excitement. Sofia gaped at him and immediately stopped struggling. Davion's heart warmed at her innocence and fluttered with excitement as he led her towards his bedroom.
Sofia grumbled in her mind but needed to pee anyway, so she simply followed the insufferable d*ck to where ever he was leading her to. He opened the door to a huge room, luxuriously furnished in blue, off-white and black. It was obviously a male domain. Sofia realized that this was the devil's bedroom actually!
"Go and freshen up," ordered Davion, releasing his grip on her. Sofia turned to him, her eyes flashing with understated fury.
"Where's my room? I won't stay here with you," she said angrily.
"Just freshen up, will you? Then we can have dinner," he announced, walking towards his closet. Sofia stood fuming but when he emerged from the closet with his clothes and started to undress, her eyes widened with realization. With his eyes hooked to hers, he slowly unbuttoned his shirt. Sofia ran into the en-suite, her cheeks red with embarrassment. She could hear Davion's chuckle and blushed all the more.
Finishing her business, she waited for him to finish changing. After five minutes, there was a knock on the door of the washroom. "You can come out now or I'll going down to eat without you," he threatened. Sofia's eyes widened with apprehension. She would get lost in this huge mansion if he left without her. With her stomach grumbling for food, the thought of dinner made her all the more hungry. She opened the door and walked out blindly only to collide with the hateful Davion.
"Were you waiting to collide with me?" She gritted out st him, rubbing her nose. Davion chuckled and nodded his head making her fume all the more. He loved her red adorable nose which got redder as she glared at him angrily. Walking out of the room, his body still tingling from the collision with his wife. He couldn't help but be amazed at his own behavior. 'What are you upto Davion?' He mentally chided himself. Colliding with your wife on purpose, just to feel her soft body against hers wasn't his cup of tea.
Sofia followed him, angrily watching him walk ahead of her. He had changed into a pair of sweatpants and a black tee-shirt and she had to admit that black suited him extremely well. His eyes stood out in contrast and his ripped muscles that were exposed through the thin material of the tee-shirt made him look se*y. Sofia choked on her own saliva at her thoughts. No he was a devil and it was better that she stay away from him, she concluded.
He walked towards the kitchen and Sofia followed him inside. He took out the plates and cutlery while she warmed the food that Greta had stored in the refrigerator. They carried everything to the table and sat down to eat. Sofia wanted to sort out the sleeping arrangements first but didn't know how to start the topic. They ate in silence with Sofia staring at her plate and Davion at her.
"Can you stop?" She asked at last, giving up. Davionblooked amused.
"Stop what?" He asked innocently, knowing fully well what she was implying.
"Staring at me, " she seethedm rolling her eyes at him.
"I can and I will. You're my wife after all," he said with a shrug, still staring. Sofia wanted to scream with frustration.
"In name only, " she pointed out.
"Who said so? I intend to stay married to you forever," he said slowly, meaning every word he spoke. Sofia's mouth hung open at his words. This marriage was real for him? He wouldn't give her a divorce?
"Why? We don't like each other, then why do you wish to stay married to me?" She asked him. Davion shrugged and at last looked away, concentrating on his food. He didn't make any attempt to answer her question and for the rest of the meal, he didn't even look up at her.
Davion was confused by his own behavior. He hated women yet he liked being with Sofia. He didn't believe in love and relationships, yet he married Sofia. He didn't ever think he would enjoy her company yet he was already addicted. What was going on? What was with this girl that was attracting him to her?
They finished the food and Sofia cleared everything and rinsed their plates and cutlery. Davion had suddenly disappeared and she went upstairs to Davion's room. She needed to ask him where her room and luggage were. She was exhausted and needed her bed but strangely she didn't find Davion in his room. Where did he go? She went to the room next to his. Was this her room? Maybe. She was so exhausted that she couldn't stay awake any longer. Climbing into the bed, she curled up and soon her eyes grew heavy and she fell into deep sleep.
Davion returned from the balcony of his room where he spent a few minutes calming himself till she finished the dishes. When he returned back to his room, she still hadn't returned. Suspicious and scared that Sofia might have escaped, he went downstairs. He searched for her everywhere but couldn't find her anywhere. Panicking a little he went upstairs and looked for her in his ensuite. She wasn't there either. Should he call Greta?
Feelimg lost, he walked out and suddenly found the door of the room next to his open. He walked into the room and released the breath that he had been unconsciously holding. He saw Sofia curled up and fast asleep on the bed. He walked towards her and watched her sleep. She looked so beautiful and innocent. Did she really hate him so much? Sighing, he picked her up in his arms. A soft sigh escaped her lips and she clung to him, embedding her face into his neck. He could see that her eyes were still closed as she was still fast asleep. Smiling with relief that she hadn't escaped after all, he carried her into his room and deposited her on his bed.
He followed her there and lay down beside her with a smile of contentment on his face.
