Chapter Thirteen
The early morning sunlight was streaming inside the room through the gap in between the curtains and Sofia blinked and tried to open her eyes wide. She was amazed at the wonderful sleep she had last night. Trying to raise herself from the warm cocoon that she was lying in, and the heavenly smell that enveloped her, she realized that she couldn't even move an inch. Turning a little, her eyes met with the electric blue eyes of none other than Davion's.
It was then that she noticed that she was actually in Davion's bedroom. "What am I doing here?" She asked, trying to get up and scoot away from him.
"Sleeping with me. What else do you think?" He smirked, his eyes hooded, his hair disheveled yet he looked like one of those models straight out of a fashion magazine. She noticed that at least they both were clothed.
"Uff, let me go. As far as I remember, I was sleeping in my own room," said Sofia, trying to lift his arm a little from it's hold around her waist. He tightened his hold further.
"This is your room. We're married, remember?" He said, stretching his body and pulling her closer against his side.
"We might be married but since it's a fake one, I want my own room," said Sofia with an angry scowl, looking disgusted with the whole situation.
Davion lost his cool. He immediately hoisted himself up and in one second pinned her under him, his arms clamping on either side of her, holding himself up on his elbows. Sofia's eyes went wide with anticipation. With Davion's face inches away from hers, she was scared as to what he might do.
"This isn't a fake one! This is for real and you'll sleep with me every night. This is your room," he said in a menacing whisper. Sofia's eyes widened further but he held her gaze in a hypnotic duel, challenging her to look away.
"This won't work Mr Torres. We don't like one another at all. I married you only to save my parents. This marriage cannot be a real one for me," she closed her eyes and somehow spoke her mind. Davion's eyes grew darker with fury. He could feel his blood boil within him. How dare she defy him? No one ever had the audacity to say no on his face. He had everything and there was no woman who could resist his charms. Every woman he met was ready to fall at his feet then who the hell was this slip of a girl?
"I'll make it real and there's no scope for any argument over this," gritted out Davion, losing his cool. Sofia tried to open her mouth but Davion's eyes flashed angrily at her.
"One more word and I'll kiss you, whether you like it or not. Don't force me to consummate our marriage just now," he warned her in a low growl. The color drained from Sofia's face and she clamped her mouth with her hand. Davion stared into her wide eyes for a minute and then abruptly rolled away and strode angrily out of the room. Sofia closed her eyes and tried to calm her rapidly beating heart. Would he be a monster and force himself upon her?
Sofia slowly got up before he returned to act upon his threat. She saw that her luggage was kept near the entrance to his walk-in closet. Quickly unzipping the one nearest to her, she took out her clothes and rushed into the en-suite before Davion returned. She emerged from the en-suite in minutes, feeling much better after a refreshing shower. Davion still hadn't come upstairs and she decided to explore the mansion and get herself something to eat. She climbed down the stairs and headed straight towards the kitchen. It was easy to locate it since she could hear Davion grumble and bang the pots and pans in the kitchen. Suppressing a giggle she walked into the kitchen with a poker face and froze with horror seeing Davion bathed in flour. It was strewn all over the floor and the place looked like a mini battle had been fought there recently.
"Haha, you look like a ghost! What happened?" Asked Sofia, giggling away uncontrollably. Davion glanced at her with irritation.
"Very funny, is it?" He asked menacingly, his eyes taking in her denim shorts and pink tee-shirt hungrily.
"It is actually, " she said in between laughs, seeing his white face and red angry eyes glaring at her. He took a step towards her and her eyes widened. She took a step backwards.
"Mr Torres, don't even think about it," she warned as he took two more steps towards her. His eyes had the hungry look of a predator and Sofia now actually started to rethink why she came downstairs in the first place.
"F*ck you, Sofia!" He growled as he took more steps towards her. Sofia's eyes widened more. He looked furious, his eyes held a strange gleam of something that she couldn't decipher. Was it revenge or lust, or maybe both?
"Mr Torres, I just took a shower, please," she begged, backing away more but he was too quick for her. In a few strides he was hovering right in front of her. Sofia tried to back away more but this time she was trapped with a wall behind her and a hungry Davion pinning her with his body.
"Davion," he said in a low growl.
"Please Davion, " she begged, looking away from his hungry eyes.
"Beg me more, Sofia. I want to see you writhing under me, begging me to take you," he said, his eyes flashing with intensity.
"That will never happen, " said Sofia. "I hate you, Davion and I shall hate you forever," said Sofia, meeting his eyes with defiance. He lifted an eyebrow with disbelief.
"I can challenge you that I can have you willing and ready for me in minutes," he smirked. 'The devil!' Thought Sofia scowling at him.
"You might be an experienced player, Davion but you won't win with me," said Sofia, meeting his eyes with a smirk of her own. Davion looked taken aback by her sass. She actually had no idea where all that courage came from.
"We'll see about that, my dearest wife," he said slowly, before leaving her abruptly to go upstairs to take a shower. Sofia slumped down to the floor after he left, all the energy draining out of her. She looked at herself and saw all the flour that he had smeared her with. With a sigh she went upstairs. She tiptoed into Davion's room which was now sadly hers as well. Thankfully he was taking a shower. So she quickly took out a fresh set of clothes and ran out to the next room.
After ten minutes, she had taken her second shower of the day and changed into a fresh set of clothes. Then going down she now realized that she had to clean up the mess that Davion had created. But when she reached the kitchen, she was greeted by a smiling Greta who was instructing two maids to clean it all up.
"Good morning, Sofia, " said Greta with a warm smile. Sofia looked a little embarrassed. What they might be concluding from all their footprints on the flour.
"Good morning, Greta. Umm, Davion spilled flour by mistake, " she started awkwardly. Greta laughed.
"Oh that's nothing! He's clumsy in the kitchen! But I'm so glad that he was trying to make something for you," she said with an indulgent look on her face. The other girls giggled while Sofia tried to grasp the news.
Was he really trying to make something for her? No. That wasn't at all like Davion, the devil. He might have been looking to fill his own stomach!
"Why don't you sip your coffee in the meantime, Sofia. We'll be done in a minute and I'll make your breakfast. Okay?" Asked Greta.
Sofia nodded. "Sure. There's no hurry. Let Davion come down, " she said with a shrug. Greta gave her a look.
"Davion has gone out. He didn't tell you?" Asked Greta, looking at her worriedly. Sofia shook her head.
"I was taking a shower. It might have been an emergency, " she told Greta to save the situation. Inwardly she was very happy that he had left her in peace. At least she could be free from him for a few hours. Ever since they had been married, she was feeling too claustrophobic with him hovering around her all the time.
"Yeah, his friend and business partner, Colton has returned home. So maybe Davion has gone to see him," informed Greta. Sofia nodded at her and sipped her coffee, closing her eyes to savor the taste. She called her family and spoke to them. Victoria wanted the details of her wedding night but Sofia left her hanging and spoke to her mom instead, making her go crazy with curiosity.
"I've procured your transfer certificate from your college, Sofi. You need to take admission in a college near you. I don't want your education to suffer because of all this," said her dad.
"Sure I will, dad," said Sofia.
Afterwards, Greta showed her around the mansion and she spent time in the garden. It was lunch time and Davion hadn't returned yet. She had her lunch with Greta. Later it was evening and all the workers left for the day. Sofia sat in the living room, waiting for Davion to have dinner with him. It was past dinnertime and she dozed off on an empty stomach!
