Chapter Ten
Her eyes widened and before she could comprehend, Davion pulled her into his arms, his arm going around her waist while the other held the nape of her neck. Electric tingles ran down Sofia and her feet started to turn to jelly. Turning her face upwards, he gently claimed her lips in a tender kiss. A wave of warmth swept over her and she trembled like a leaf but the kiss ended as soon as it had started and Davion released her abruptly. Sofia suddenly realized what just happened! She actually enjoyed the hateful Davion's kiss!
"I am so pleased to present the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Torres," said the officiant. The unity candle was lit and afterwards when the wedding was over, Sofia still couldn't believe that she was really married. Davion's hand snaked around her waist and he pulled her to his side.
"Say cheese, my dearest wife!" He said with a smirk. It was enough to bring her to her senses. She tried to push him away but couldn't. The cameras flashed as their photographer directed Davion how he wanted the poses. Sofia gritted her teeth inwardly as she went through the torture. Her family also joined in the photography session. They congratulated them, looking quite relieved that everything went well. The marriage registrar arrived and soon they signed the marriage certificates, completing the legal process.
Her parents embraced Davion and welcomed him into the family. "Where's you family?" Victoria asked Davion, after being introduced. Sofia was astonished to see her twin and Davion freely talk with one another. How could she when he forced Sofia to marry him? If they were so close why didn't they get married instead of dragging her into the scene?
"You're my family. Aren't you, now?" Said Davion with a grin. Victoria seemed pleased with his Sofia rolled her eyes and walked away from his side towards her mom but to her horror, Davion pulled her back and his arm clamped around her waist, holding her securely to his side. Sofia glared at him while Victoria giggled. Davion smirked at her.
"You can't escape me," he leaned in to whisper into her ear. Sofia tried to push him away but couldn't. With all his employees coming up to congratulate them while the rest gaped at them, Sofia was unable to react much. She had to paste a fake smile on her face and continued with the drama.
"Mr and Mrs Blakesley, please come this way. We've arranged for a wedding lunch at one of our signature restaurants. Hope you would like it," Davion said to his parents.
"Of course we'll like it, Davion. I'm impressed by all the arrangements that you've made at such short notice," said Sofia's mom.
"Yes, Davion. Thank you for your efforts, " said Sofia's dad.
"The pleasure's all mine. I'm glad that you like it," said Davion with a warm smile.
They were ushered inside an upscale signature restaurant with huge floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the restaurant's stunning surroundings and the water fountains on the property. Throughout the lunch, Davion made light conversations with Sofia's family while she sat silently beside him, trying hard to concentrate on her food. With his hand permanently on her thigh, it was a difficult task to do. She tried her best to get rid of the disgusting hand but it kept returning again and again. It was as if he wanted to brand her with his touch. Sofia was tied down with strangers all around her, watching them like a hawk but soon she knew that she would soon get the opportunity to take it out on Davion Torres. She had just married him out of an obligation, she hadn't sold her heart, soul and body to him!
Thankfully the torture ended and lunch was over. However, the torture had just started for Sofia. Soon Davion announced his plans of heading straight to his home in Reno, Nevada. Sofia's eyes widened with shock. She had just received the greatest shock and now when she was still reeling under its impact, she received another. Her luggage was unloaded and her family hugged her and wished her luck.
"Take care, sweetie, " said her mom, kissing her cheek with tears in her eyes.
Sofia hugged her. "Yes mom. You too take care of yourself and everyone," she said, feeling her eyes fill up.
"Remember what I told you," reminded her dad into her ear as he hugged her. Sofia nodded. Of course she remembered it. She might do just that when she found a perfect opportunity.
Victoria hugged her tightly. "Look for a handsome groom for me too. Any friend of Davion's will do. I'll come down to Reno to stay with you two," she threatened and Sofia rolled her eyes.
"Bye and study hard. I'll come back soon," grinned Sofia. Victoria chuckled and they all walked away. Sofia wasn't allowed to go out since the place was teeming with reporters and Davion didn't wish to announce his wedding today. He wasn't ready to face others before talking to Sofia first. Her family were escorted to the same limo to take them home.
After they left, Davion turned towards her. "Shall we?" He asked in a charming tone. Sofia shrugged without looking at him.
Sofia had no idea why he was leading her towards the escalator when they needed to go to Reno immediately. Two attendants carried their luggage and disappeared towards the backside. The escalator led them to the top floor. "Can you please tell me what's going on? I'm not gonna stay here with you in one of the rooms, " she gritted out, unable to contain herself any longer.
Davion gave her a devilish grin. "You will but not here," he said walking out of the glass escalator. She followed seething and fuming all the way. If they weren't staying here then where the hell were they going? Sofia wanted to wipe the smugness off his handsome face. The devil! He was enjoying playing this game with her. 'Just you wait, Mr. Insufferable d*ck! I too will have my day!' She swore in her head. If her parents weren't involved, she would have escaped this ordeal, leaving him hanging at the altar.
"I really need to change out of this, " she grumbled, holding onto her train and stomping after him, glaring at his hot b*tt. He had taken out his tuxedo coat while she was paraded around in such a 14-Foot train. She stopped midway and took it off her head. Breathing a sigh of relief, she had just folded the train into a ball when she felt herself being hoisted up.
"Whoa! What the f*ck!" She gasped and then realized that Davion had actually picked her up in his arms and was carrying her bridal style in her bridal attire, just like a bride should be carried! Couldn't it get any more clichéd?
"I can walk. Can you put me down?" Her eyes flashed with fury. Davion glanced at her and winked making her more mad.
"Hold onto me or you'll fall on your face," he said, dipping her a little. Sofia's eyes widened with disbelief and she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck with panic.
Davion chuckled at her cuteness. He really wanted to resume the kiss where he'd left off. Her lips tasted so sweet that he was already drunk with the taste of them. Her soft body in his arms was doing strange things to his hormones and he seemed to loose control over his senses. He just couldn't wait to reach home and get her all to himself. He had never felt so intense a desire to have any girl in his entire life. His desire for her was turning into a burning obsession and he had no control over it whatsoever.
"Do you need to freshen up before we start our journey?" He asked her, staring into her eyes.
"Yes and I need to change this," said Sofia. It was no use fighting and denying it. She would faint in the heavy gown if she wore it a minute longer. Davion nodded and walked into a room with her. Sofia was immediately on high alert. What would he do with her in that room?
"No, I'm not going anywhere with you. I want to freshen up and change. I want privacy, please," she said the moment he set her down inside the room. Davion held his hands up in mock defeat.
"Your luggage is here. Help yourself, wifey. You have fifteen minutes," he said, walking out and closing the door. Sofia rushed and locked the door after him. She saw that her luggage stood on the floor in one corner of the room. Would they be spending the night here? She didn't want to think about it and panic now. Opening a suitcase, she took out a pale lemon yellow sundress and wore it. She went to the en-suite and freshened up, removing her makeup and untying her bun. She combed and fixed her hair in a simple ponytail. Feeling normal again, she wrapped her wedding dress and stored it in it's own bag.
It was then that an idea hit her. There were five minutes left before Davion would arrive. Could she escape?
