Chapter Fifty

The next day Angela took baby Daniel to her house while Damian and Xavion fixed Daniel's nursery. Her dad played with Daniel while Angela went through her stuff in her room, packing up whatever she wanted, her clothes which she hadn't taken along with her. She threw away all the makeup and toiletries that had expired in the last year.

Adam and Alex too played with Daniel. Afterward, when the nursery was fixed, they all went back to Damian's house. They all sat down to have the delicious lunch that Carla and aunt Sandra had prepared.

"So when are you planning your wedding?" Asked her dad.

"We were waiting for your approval and blessings dad," said Angela.

"I'm sorry sweetie. Now that you have my approval it's no point delaying it, " said her dad.

"Then we can get married in a month. I'll apply for the license today itself, " said Damian.

So the wedding was fixed for the eighteenth of next month and everyone was super excited. After everyone left Damian asked her,"Are you excited that we're getting married finally?"

"Yes, very excited. You?" She asked.

"I had dreamt of marrying you since I was a baby," he said with a wink.

"How absurd! I don't believe it. Okay, tell me when did you first realize that you had feelings for me?" She asked him. She always wanted to know but didn't get to ask him.

"When we were eight and you made friends with Freddie. I was very jealous and heartbroken. I cried after returning home from school. It was then that I realized that I liked you most in this world. Then when you came to my house and hugged me, comforted me, I knew you were the one for me, " he admitted.

"Oh, I remember that day," said Angela.

"So when did you realize that you had feelings for me?" He asked her.

"At the camping site when we were thirteen, you came over to see me in the morning at my camp. That day I knew that I liked you more than a best friend should," she admitted.

Baby Daniel gurgled to get their attention, "Hey Daniel, mommy, and daddy are getting married. Will you be a good boy and sleep on our wedding night?" He asked nodding his head.

Baby Daniel gurgled more,"ddd ..  mmmmmmm," he said and Damian grinned.

"He has agreed, " he said and Angela rolled her eyes.

So their wedding preparations started with a lot of enthusiasm. Aunt Sandra meticulously planned out everything, with more enthusiasm than anyone else. After a week, Angela called Steffi to give her the good news. Steffi had just discovered that she was eleven days pregnant. She was sick with terrible morning sickness and couldn't be her matron of honor.

Angela called Juliette who had always been in touch with her although she had separated from Xavion. She promised to be her maid of honor. She came over and took Angela to shop for their wedding dresses. They ate lunch outside and caught up with each other. Juliette told her everything about Xavion and her fight. Angela tried to convince her of Xavion's true feelings for her.

She rushed home afterward since she had left baby Daniel with Damian and her aunt. The next few days were very busy for Angela. It was a weekend and Clara and Arnold had come over. The whole family went shopping. While her dad and the boys went to buy their tuxedos, Angela, Clara, and aunt Sandra went to buy their dresses. Clara bought the same dress as Juliette as she was a bridesmaid too. Angela bought a similar dress for Steffi too since she couldn't accompany them to the mall.

After buying all the necessary stuff, they went to an upscale restaurant to eat lunch. Damian had bought a tuxedo for Harry since he couldn't leave Steffi alone and come over with them. He also collected one for Xavion who was in Montreal on some personal work.

The next twenty days all the preparations were completed and her aunt heaved a sigh of relief. "Relax aunt Sandra, everything's taken care of.

"I know, I just want everything to be perfect. I want your wedding to be the most memorable experience for all of us," she said. Angela brought her a cup of herbal tea that she loved so much.

"It will be aunt Sandra, don't worry, " she said.

"Where's Damian?" She asked.

"He's gone to Rollingwood to get his transfer certificate. He'd be discontinuing the course he's been pursuing and join the agricultural course at the University of Austin," informed Angela.

"That's good. Are your studies going well? Education is a must and should be taken seriously Angela, " she said.

"Yes, aunt Sandra.  My mid-term exams are after a couple of months. I haven't missed a single online class," she informed her aunt.

"Good. I want you to do something worthwhile. You are young and talented. Settle down and think about what you want to do with your life. Everyone should have some focus in their lives. Children, family life, husband, all our loved ones are always there but achieving your full potential, your dreams are equally important," her aunt explained to her.

"Yes, aunt Sandra. I love designing buildings but I love cooking more. I'm confused as to what I want to do," she said.

"If you love cooking more you should have taken up a degree in food technology, " she said.

"I wanted to but dad supported architecture more than food technology," she told her aunt.

"Look child, it's no use pursuing something half-heartedly just because your dad wants you to. Do what you want to do," aunt Sandra said.

"Isn't it too late?" She asked.

"Why should it be? You're just nineteen. Talk to Damian and drop out with a certificate of completing one and a half years in architecture. Then enroll in food technology. I can keep Daniel for a few hours. Complete your graduation. You can always open your own cafe later," suggested Aunt Sandra.

Angela kissed her aunt's cheek."You're the best, aunt Sandra. Thank you for guiding me," she said.

"I'm always here for you, dear," she said and Angela hugged her.

Later after tucking in Daniel in his nursery which was attached to their room, Angela changed for bed and lay down beside Damian.

"At last you found time for me, " he grumbled, pulling her closer.

"I always have time for you Damian, " she smiled.

"No, you don't. If you don't spend much time with me how will we produce Dean, Diana, and Danica?" He asked with concern.

"Who are those people?" She asked with rounded eyes.

"Our children. I told you that I want four children, " he said, looking at her with a look of disbelief. "You forgot?"

"No I didn't but they can wait. I don't want another child for the next two years. I want to do something in my life, " Angela answered.

"I'm willing to wait till you complete your studies.  So what do you want to do,  tell me?" He asked with an indulgent smile.

Angela told him about her conversation with aunt Sandra. "What will dad say if I drop out now?" She asked with apprehension.

"No one will say, anything Angel. It's your life. Do what you want to do. I know how good you are at cooking. Without any sort of training or guidance, you're so good. If you want we can go to the university and get you enrolled," he suggested.

"Thank you Damian for being so supportive, " she said kissing his cheek.

"That's not what I want in return?" He said cheekily.

"Then what do you want, Mr. Anderson?" She asked and he grinned.

"You, Mrs. Anderson, " he said, biting her earlobe.

"I'm not Mrs. Anderson yet, " she pointed out.

"You will be after ten days," he said. "Why does everyone need to call so many guests? I just wanted you and me to get married without the guests," he said with a sigh.

"That doesn't happen, Damian," she said with a lopsided grin.

Damian sighed. They made love and then went to sleep.

The next ten days went by like a whirlwind. Damian took her to the university and got her admitted to the undergraduate program in food technology. She would get a certificate once she appeared for her last midterm exams in the architecture course. He shifted his program too.

Guests started pouring in two days prior to the wedding. Angela's dad had invited his brother and his family from California, his cousin's sister and daughters, and many more relatives. Angela went to her house and saw the crowd. Adam and Alex had come over to Damian's house to sleep.

"Dad can be so annoying. Why did he have to invite all our relatives?" Asked Alex rolling his eyes.

"Beats me," said a grumpy Adam. "Arnie's the luckiest. Living all alone with Clara in a big house."

Angela chuckled and served dinner. She had already fed baby Daniel as he played with Damian. Tomorrow was her wedding day and she didn't know how she could manage it all.
