Chapter Twenty-Four

Thankfully it was her turn to get her order and Angela didn't have to answer Freddie anything. She took the tray and smiled at Freddie.

"I'll get going, see you later," she said walking away.

"Both of you could join us," offered Freddie.

"Not now, we're discussing something important. Maybe later huh?" She said, trying to avoid his offer.

"Ok. See you, " said Freddie.

"What's the tool doing here? I think I will have to end this once and for all," swore Damian as he and Xavion stared at Freddie standing beside Angela, talking to her and rocking on his heels.

"Don't do anything here, bro. We're new to college. I'm sure you don't want to get suspended on the first day," advised Xavion.

"No, I'll deal with this outside campus," said Damian. Xavion sighed. "But first I need to warn Angela away from him."

Angela brought the burgers and fries to their table. Juliette eyed the burgers that Angela got.

"Looks delicious. Let's eat. I'm ravenous after that last class, " said Juliette.

"I know, last class was pathetic," agreed Angela.

"Still I like this college and I'm liking Austin more, " admitted Juliette.

"So you're not from Austin, right?" Asked Angela curiously.

"No, My home's in Travis Springs, twenty five minutes, drive away. My dad and my older brother are both lawyers there," Juliette informed her.

"Oh, then where are you staying here?" Asked Angela, biting into her burger.

"I rented a small apartment nearby," Juliette answered. "I need a roommate now," she declared.

"Why do you need a roommate? For the financial benefit?" Asked Angela.

"No no, I just need some company," Juliette said.

"A roommate is a headache, you know. She'll bring over men for the night, go to nightclubs and ask you to pick her up, make your home dirty as ever, make you do all the housework while she partied. It'll rob you your sleep. It's better to stay alone and have your peace of mind and privacy," advised Angela as Juliette's eyes widened in horror.

"Oh, then I don't need a roommate, " she said. "What about you, where are you staying?"

"With my family. Dad won't let me live on my own. He forgets that I'm eighteen," said Angela, sighing heavily.

"Why don't you shift in with me?" Asked Juliette, hoping she'd agree.

"Dad won't allow me. I had a bad experience with a roommate earlier. I was arrested because she brought drugs into our rented apartment. Dad and my brothers rescued me," she said.

"Oh, that's bad," Juliette said, horrified at the information.

"Yeah, ask me about it," she said.

"About what?" Growled Damian's furious voice as the Devil and the Satan stood in front of them at their table. His tone had them literally jump out of their seats. His jaws were clenched and he looked furious, like he could murder someone.

"Nothing, what are you doing here?" Asked Angela, glaring at him.

"We've come to join you," said Xavion as he stared at Juliette.

"You're unwelcome here," said Juliette, staring back. Xavion dragged a chair beside her, blocking her way and kept staring at her lazily.

"I'm stuck to you," he whispered, smirking at her and she rolled her eyes.

Angela got up only to be whisked away by Damian to a corner. She struggled to break free from his hold on her wrist as he held her to him.

"Damian let me go. You're hurting me," she spoke but her plea fell onto deaf ears.

"What's up with Freddie and you? Why does he follow you everywhere?" he growled, pulling her flush against his chest and holding onto her.

Angela placed her palms on his chest to push him away but it was a futile attempt. He was made of steel, she should have known it by now. "I don't know why he follows me around. He says he's in love with me. He wants to marry me, I guess," said Angela casually.

"I'll deal with him but if I see you encouraging him in any way, it won't be good for you Angel. You're mine, do you hear me?" He growled again, his face was red with fury.

"I belong to no one. My feelings for you died the day you decided to have a twosome. I'm not answerable to you just like you're not answerable to me. Get lost Damian. I don't care what you do or don't do. Just leave me alone," Angela spoke in a harsh, rude tone.

Damian just stared back at her. Her words hurt him a lot. "I swear to God I never indulged in all these. I swear upon God that there's more to all this than you think. Caitlin's my dad's boss's daughter. They own the hospital chain where dad works. She's been hounding me for a long time. She'd finish dad if I did anything. I never had anything to do with her. Please trust me. I only love you Angel," he pleaded in a small voice, full of pain and longing. He could fight the world but he couldn't face the hurtful words spewing out of Angela's mouth. It broke his heart. It made him want to end his life.

"I don't care Damian. Go fuck her for all I care," she said in the same indifferent tone as she had spoken earlier.

"I know you care. I know you love me the most in the world," he continued.

"I used to. Not anymore," corrected Angela.

"Yes, you care for me still. That's why you're hurting thinking about me with Caitlyn," Damian pointed out.

"I'm not hurting. You can go fuck random girls. I won't be affected in any way. We're over. I've moved on," declared Angela.

"I'm going to prove it to you that you still love me, that you cannot see me with another girl, that you still care," he swore, as he lowered his head and tried to kiss her. Angela ducked away and placed her hands over his mouth to stop him.

"No, go kiss someone else. I don't give a damn about you," she swore, pushing him with all her might and escaping from his hold.

She marched to where Juliette was having a tough time dealing with an equally obsessed Xavion. She shifted the table and chairs to one side. Going up to Juliette, she caught her wrist and dragged her out of the cafeteria, leaving an astounded Damian and Xavion gaping at them.

"What happened?" Asked Juliette when they were out of earshot.

"Damian the asshole tried to kiss me, " informed Angela without going into much details. She would tell her later. Right now she was pissed off at Damian.

"That's disgusting, " said Juliette and Angela rolled her eyes.

"Let's go to the next class," said Angela and they went inside the classroom and sat down.

After class, Damian and Xavion didn't bother them anymore. Maybe they had lost interest in them but Angela knew better. They were lost in Candice and her friend Virginia, who were from another program. They clung to the two boys, their hands all over them, kissing and making out after every class.

Angela knew it was a ploy to get their attention. She knew Damian just wanted to prove that she still had feelings for him. It was working though. Her heart was breaking seeing him make out with Virginia. She felt terrible and couldn't concentrate on anything. She wrinkled her nose in disgust when she saw Virginia kissing Damian. Juliette, however, didn't react to Candice and Xavion's kiss, although Xavion stared at her over Candice's head. Why would she? It was good that he lost interest in her. Who needed a jerk in their lives?

After classes, an upset Angela went to her car and sped off. She was heart broken and could feel the tears prick at her eyes. She knew she still loved Damian and could never move on. She didn't want to face anyone. She didn't want Damian, Xavion or Juliette to see her tears. Damian's ploy was working and she just wanted to escape it all. Why she was so upset, Juliette couldn't fathom, so she just left Angela in peace.

On her way home she saw Damian's car parked at a corner and him making out with the girl who she saw on the day of her return. He looked towards her and winked at her while still kissing the girl.

She drove faster, the tears falling down her cheeks till she reached home. Parking her car, she strode into her house and ran up to her room. Locking the door, she sobbed heartbrokenly. Despite everything, she still loved Damian and his behaviour had affected her more than she had ever imagined it would.

Damian thanked Robynn. "Did she see us?" Asked Robynn with a grin. She was an old friend and when Damian wanted a favor from her, she couldn't deny him. Although she wasn't into guys, she still obliged him and kissed him to get Angela jealous.

"Yep, she did. Thanks again Rob. You'll get your treat," he promised.

"Anytime dude. Hope she comes to her senses soon. All the best. Tell me if you need more help," she said and walked away with a wave.

Damian trudged back to his car and drove home. He had seen the hurt in Angela's eyes and knew that she still loved him. Now it was up to her to realise it.
