Chapter Seventeen

Angela decided to make his favourite, garlic butter herb steak with potatoes. Damian freshened up and came up behind her. He took in the delicious smell of her and kissed her neck. It was more aluring than the dish that she was preparing, despite steak being his hot favourite.

"You're the perfect wife material, you know, " he said, his lips grazing her neck.

"Mmmm, if you do that again, you'll get burnt dinner. Then I'll be the worst wife alive," she said, trying to move away to make dinner.

"Haha, very funny. I will do it again and again. You can't stop me. Burnt dinner's fine with me," he said, sucking her neck, marking her.

"What are you doing?" She asked, as his mouth sucked another spot on her neck.

"Marking you. I'll drop you back tomorrow but I want everyone to know that you belong to me," he spoke with hooded eyes as he sucked another spot.

"Stop Damian, I'll be going home. My family will see these," she whined.

"Let them. You tell your family that we're together now and we will be together, forever, " he stated with finality.

"But uncle Ronald doesn't want us to be even friends. Dad also would never accept us, Damian. I don't know why!" She said, unhappily.

"Still we will be together, Angel. I will talk to uncle Gerry," he promised.

"Ok," she agreed.

Damian helped her with the dinner. They finished making it and sat down to eat. "Mmm, this is the most delicious dinner ever," he moaned and she smiled at him, warmly. "I don't want you to go back," he spoke softly.

"Me neither but I have to," she said.  She knew her brothers. Someone or the other would surely drop by to check up on her. It was a miracle that they hadn't so far. "You know my brothers. They will surely come over to  check up on me."

Damian sighed. "I know. I don't want you to face problems now when college is starting in just ten days," he said. He knew how uncle Gerry had grounded Adam for a fortnight for a drunken mishap once.

They ate their dinner silently. A message from Whitney flashed on her mobile and she checked it out. Her eyes widened in horror.

Whitney - "Where are you exactly? You can't be at home since your brother Alex came by just 10 minutes back."

Angela - "I'm with Damian at his farmhouse. What did you tell him?"

Whitney- "Since Steffi's wasn't at home, I told him that you and Steffi have gone shopping."

Angela - "Thank you,  you're the best. Did he say anything else?"

Whitney- "No, Andrew was here and your brother was kinda annoyed to see him actually. "

Angela- "Oh, ignore him. I have three brothers and they behave the same way. So chill. "

Whitney- "So when are you returning? He might come back again."

Angela - "I'll come back tomorrow by noon."

Whitney- "Oh,  I have a lunch invitation at a friend's place. I'll see you in the evening. "

Angela- "Sure."

Damian too read her messages with her. "So will you tell her tomorrow night?" He asked, finishing his food.

"Yes," she answered, picking up the stuff and going to the kitchen. They finished the dishes and cuddled with each other on the bed.

"Will you miss me Angel?" He asked her, his thumb brushing her lower lip and his eyes growing dark with desire.  The wish to kiss her was driving him wild since the time he inhaled her intoxicating scent while cooking dinner.

"Yes but when you return I'd be at my house," she informed him and he nodded. A sudden idea struck him and he sat up.

"I know. Give me your number and I'll message you. Keep your window open for me at night," he grinned. She looked at him with a horrified expression on her face.

"Don't even try it. If dad catches you,  you'd be dead, mister," she scolded. Damian shrugged and took her mobile and gave himself a missed call. He saved his number on her phone and hers on his phone.

"Done," he sighed, keeping their phones down. "I'll try to complete all of this as early as possible and come back. "

"I'm not going anywhere Damian. This is your dream project. So, have it done to your satisfaction, " she advised and he nodded.

"You're right. Fine then. Give me a kiss. Come here, " he said, pulling her onto his lap and claiming her lips. The kiss was gentle, eliciting an equal response from her. Soon they were lost in each other. After a thorough makeout session, they slept cuddled up together.

The next morning, Damian dropped her off at the apartment early in the morning. He kissed her and returned back since the workers would arrive. It was just seven in the morning and Angela unlocked the door with her spare keys and entered softly.

She tiptoed to her room and took a refreshing shower. Changing, she went to the kitchen to make some coffee.  Thoughts of Damian filled her mind and she started missing him.

Whitney walked into the kitchen and screamed seeing her sitting there, in the dark. Angela hadn't opened the window or drawn away any curtains. "Oh, it's you. I got scared. Steffi didn't return last night. I was alone. I thought you were a ghost," she said, holding her chest to steady her breathing.

Angela got up to draw the curtains, to open the window of the kitchen. "Yes, I came back early. Damian went back as he had some work," she informed her.

"Good that you're back. We wouldn't have met otherwise. I will leave in three hours, " she informed her.

Whitney updated her about the lunch date that she was attending. Although Angela was least interested in her escapades, yet she listened to her. She wanted to tell Steffi first about her decision to move out.

"Steffi's returning today?" She asked hopefully.

"Yes, she messaged me a few minutes back. She'll come today," informed Whitney. She sipped her coffee while Angela got up to make some breakfast.  She chopped some veggies to make stuffed omelettes for the two of them. She toasted the bread and served the food onto two plates for Whitney and her.

"Thanks, I love your cooking. I'm a bread and cheese, milk and cereal kind of a person. Who wants to take so much pain and cook?" Said Whitney, attacking the food hungrily.

Angela didn't like chatting with her much. She ate with a fake smile on her face and waited for Steffi to return.

Whitney went for a shower after an hour. Steffi hadn't returned yet and Angela washed her dirty clothes that had piled up. She packed her remaining stuff and was ready to leave. She would just stuff in the clean clothes once they were washed and be on her way to her own house.

After two hours, Whitney left for her lunch date. Angela sat down with a book and soon dozed off. She woke up to a light tap on her shoulder. Opening her eyes, she saw Steffi leaning over her. Harry too was with her and he smiled at her warmly.

"When did you both come in?" Croaked Angela, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

"Just now. And you?" She asked, leaving her handbag and luggage beside her door.

"I arrived in the morning," informed Angela.

"Damian's gone back?" She asked with a knowing smile.

Angela nodded, a blush spreading on her face as Harry too looked towards them with interest.

"So are you both together at last or what?" Asked Steffi, excitedly.

"Not officially but yes, we are," Angela answered and Steffi squealed. Harry grinned.

"It's about time too," he said, with a wide smile.

"So let's order lunch, shall we? I've something to tell you," said Steffi, with a shy smile and Angela wiggled her eyebrows at her.

"Are you two getting hitched?" She whispered.

"Yes. I'll tell you, be patient girl," said Steffi. Both of them giggled excitedly.

Harry ordered lunch for all of them and sat down opposite to them on the couch. "How did your trip go?" Angela asked Harry.

"Not good at all. Whitney didn't tell you? I had a fight with Andrew. We left after the first day together," informed Harry.

"Yes, it was such a bad idea actually. That was the first time we really had a double date," said Steffi, glancing at Harry.  "He didn't want to go but I insisted and now I really regret it. Andrew isn't what he tries to show. He is into something illegal, I think, " said Steffi and Angela's eyes grew wide with horror.

"I knew it. I didn't like the guy when I met him," said Angela.

"Yes, me neither but Steff here is so naive. She thinks everyone's good and we shouldn't judge anyone before knowing the person," said Harry.

"I know. Now, forget him. Tell me your good news," asked Angela.

"Well, our parents have accepted our relationship.  So I'm returning home and we'll get engaged soon," informed Steffi.

"Congrats guys. I'm so happy for you.  In fact, I too wanted to return home. I too am not staying here anymore," declared Angela.

The doorbell rang and Harry got up to open the door. He opened it to peep outside. There stood two police officers from the Austin police department.
