Chapter Thirteen
Damian calmed down and allowed Angela to kiss him. He felt the love that she felt for him. Her actions made him realise that beneath her calm exterior there was a girl who loved him with all her heart. The love which he had a glimpse of. Maybe Angela herself was unaware of the intensity of her feelings for him.
His arm went around her, his mouth fought for dominance, his large hands picked her up. Her legs wrapped around him and he strode towards her bed. He lay her down gently and lay down over her, supporting his weight on one elbow while his mouth remained fused with hers.
His tongue expertly explored her mouth. The gentle kiss soon turned into a needy kiss. Angela felt cold when his warm mouth left hers and went to her throat to shower kisses. She arched her neck to expose more of herself. What was it about Damian that she couldn't control her body's reaction to him?
His mouth left hers to stare deeply into her eyes. "Who do you love the most in the world, Angel?" He asked with an intensity that compelled her to answer with the same honest intensity.
"You Damian, " she whispered. Damian's face brightened, his eyes shone like a child's. It was a reaction she had grown accustomed to just like the question that he had been asking her since they were children. It always had the same answer. Angela loved no other.
"How did you get in?" Asked Angela curiously.
Damian flashed her a goofy grin. At 6 o'clock in the morning Harry had come over to his house and handed him the spare key he had. If he told her that she might again get furious with him. He fidgeted with her hair to avoid answering her question.
Angela quirked her eyebrows at him. Was he nervous?"What did you do Damian?" She asked again.
"Nothing, nothing at all. Harry just gave me his spare key. Simple, just don't get mad, " he owned up eyeing her for her reaction. His stomach grumbled and he scratched his forehead. He hadn't eaten anything since morning in his haste to come here.
Angela glared at him but not for long. His adorable antics melted her heart. Damian and adorable? She rolled her eyes at her pathetic self. "I'll make something for both of us," she said, getting up and going to the kitchen.
He followed her to the kitchen like a lost puppy. Angela asked him,"What would you like to eat?" Damian grinned and stared at her.
"What?" She asked him and he grinned more.
"Damian?" She asked again.
"You don't want to hear it. The list is long and dirty," he winked and Angela closer her ears.
"Stop. I got it. I asked as in food, " she rolled her eyes. Bad boys and their one tracked minds.
"Well, I want something wet and hot, which I could lick..," Angela placed her hand over his foul mouth.
"Shut up, I know just the thing for you," she said with a small smile, her cheeks pink hearing his dirty description.
"What?"Damian asked excitedly.
"Melted cheese rolls with hot tomato soup and hot choco lava cake, " she suggested and Damian facepalmed.
Angela laughed and took out the ingredients for making the soup first. Damian sat with eyes wide and jaws dropped on the kitchen counter and watched her.
"You really are cooking that?" He asked in dismay.
"Yes," she answered and his eyes widened further.
"Ok, you win, just give me something simple. We cannot afford to waste all morning cooking breakfast. I have other things on my mind that we could do," he said with an excited smile.
"Like?" She prompted.
"Like going out. I want to take you somewhere, " he said and Angela's interest was piqued.
"Where?" She asked.
"You'll see. So make something simple like a sandwich or something, " he suggested.
"Ok," she started making ham and cheese sandwiches. He too started to help make the food.
"You can cook?" She asked in surprise. She'd never seen him cook in her entire life.
"Yeah, a little but only for you, ok," he said, feeling a little embarrassed.
"Geez, I'm lucky, I guess," she grinned.
The corners of his mouth turned upwards as a small smile hovered on his lips. He made a crude sandwich with his 100% attention and handed the plate to her. "Here. This is for you." He said admiring his creation.
"Thank you, " said Angela and took the plate from him. She was touched by his simple gesture. She handed him his breakfast too.
"No that won't do. You have to thank me properly, " he said winking.
"I knew it, " said Angela with a laugh. He looked at her in incredulously.
"You're getting smarter in my company, " he declared with approval.
"Sorry to break your ego, mister. I was born smart," she declared and Damian grinned. They ate their sandwiches.
"Not bad," appreciated Angela and Damian glowed with pride. They did the dishes and Damian made her change into a pair of denims and tee shirt and comfortable shoes. They left the apartment in twenty minutes.
Damian guided her to his silver Lexus LS and drove on. Angela looked around out of the window. Asking him would be useless and she would get a cliche answer, so she just tried to guess.
After an hour, Damian had driven out of Austin, further eastwards. "Are we going very far?" Asked Angela feeling apprehensive.
"No, just fifteen minutes more," he said. He placed his hand on her thigh and she trembled like a leaf as an electric current shot through her.
"Relax Angel. You don't trust me?" He asked with hurt in his tone.
"Of course I do. Why else will I come along with you?" she reassured.
Damian grinned. "Just have a little patience," he said. He removed his warm hand from her thigh and drove on. They followed the course of a creek and landed in front of a huge gate. It looked like a huge farm. A log cabin stood proud beside the meandering creek.
"Where are we Damian?" Angela asked curiously.
"This is Muddy Creek, Travis county. Welcome to my Grass Roots Farm," he said with a smile radiating genuine happiness.
"Who's farm is this?" She asked confusedly.
"Mine. I received a part of my grandad's inheritance and I bought this. I want to develop a sustainable agricultural project here to help the community. Grandad's ancestral home was nearby. After it was destroyed by a fire, he had lost all family members in it. He shifted to the city in search of work. He built himself an empire in the field in the field of finance. But he had to sell everything and invest the money in my name when my dad chose medicine over his business," said Damian with a sigh.
"He had always wanted to come back here and do something for the people here but didn't ever get time out," he confessed. Angela looked around with a new outlook.
"It's an applaudable task Damian. I'm so proud of you," she said honestly.
"Thanks it means a lot to me. Dad's furious with me for wasting my money," admitted Damian softly.
"This isn't a waste," she comforted and Damian smiled.
"Work hasn't started yet. But I've had the cabin renovated and cleaned for stay. Will you spend a few moments with me?" He asked expectantly.
"I'd love to," said Angela. He held her hand and led her through the wooden gate. They walked down the dusty path towards the log cabin. The sound of birds chirping, the water gushing in the creek, the butterflies dancing around them, the fresh air all made Angela love being here.
"This place is like a dream. I can spend my whole life here," she admitted and Damian's eyes shone with happiness.
"You mean it?" He asked and Angela nodded.
"You're the first whom I brought here. Even Xavion hasn't been here. It's very special for me," he admitted and Angela squeezed his hand, happy that he had honoured her so much.
"I'm glad of the honour," she said with a smile.
He opened the log cabin and opened the windows for airing. Angela saw that the interiors were warm, welcoming and clean, as if someone had just cleaned it. She looked around the place. There was a furnished master bedroom and a small attached bedroom which was unfurnished. The small kitchen was well equipped and the refrigerator stocked. There was a bathroom attached to the master bedroom and a living room opening onto the porch.
It looked picture perfect actually. She wondered why the refrigerator was stocked. Did someone live here? She thought of asking Damian but he had already gone out to the creek. She walked out and saw him sitting with a fishing rod.
"Why are you catching fish?" She asked. Were they staying longer?
"I'll make lunch for you," he grinned and Angela gaped at him. Could he cook fish? The guy was an enigma. What else could he do? But most importantly what else had he planned?
