Chapter Forty-Three

"Why did you switch off your mobile? I had been trying to reach you since morning, " said Damian.

"Arnie was trying to convince dad. I was sitting with him," she informed him.

"Cheer up Angel. At least we're not related. Hopefully, the biggest nightmare's over. Now we can wait until uncle Gerry accepts our relationship," he comforted her.

"You're right. I'm glad that we're not related. I'm grateful to Arnie, Adam and Alex for standing up for me," she said, fondly thinking about her brothers.

"Yes, you've got the best brothers in the world, " grinned Damian.

"Yes, you're right. I've got my mom's diary with me. We'll read it together at aunt Sandra's house," Angela said with a small smile.

"I have to look for a place for myself nearby. What if aunt Sandra doesn't allow me to stay with you?" Damian sighed.

"Why would you? I won't stay alone. Let's go to our farm then. After a few days when we feel calmer, we can think about where to go. We could rent a place and stay together," said Angela with determination.

"What about college?" Asked Damian.

"We'll take a break for a week. We'll cope up later, " she said and Damian grinned.

"Fine then. Let's go to our farm," he said, driving towards their farm. "In a week we can decide where we could stay."

They reached their farm by lunchtime.  Damian collected some of the farm produce and Angela cooked a one-pot chicken stew, buttered some fresh bread rolls to go with it. They enjoyed their meal and unloaded their stuff and took them to the cabin.

"Unpack only the bare essentials, Angel. We would have to leave in a week's time, " Damian said.

The whole afternoon they helped the workers at the farm and interacted with them. By evening, everyone left and they returned to their cabin. Damian picked her up on his shoulders and carried her to the en-suite.

Angela laughed, "Are you forcing me to clean you, mister?" She teased.

"Yes. I'll clean you and you return the favour. Deal?" He grinned.

Angela facepalmed, "I can clean myself, thank you. Put me down," she said with a small smile tugging at her lips.

"Nope," he said stubbornly, carrying her inside the en-suite and placing her on the vanity. He stripped her as well as himself.

Starting the shower, he stood under it, the water cascading down his rippling muscles. Angela stared at him, mesmerised by his drool-worthy body. "Come here,  Angel," he said, his voice hoarse with desire.

Angela got down from the vanity and walked up to him. She could see how aroused he already was. She went close to him and touched his erection, stroking him as he closed his eyes momentarily. He switched off the water and pushed her against the shower wall. He claimed her lips roughly while he hoisted her one leg upwards around himself. His fingers found her leaking wetness and thrust into her, in and out in a crazy rhythm. She clung to his shoulders for support. His mouth and fingers tormented her till she came undone onto his eager fingers. He released her and she knelt before him, taking his full erection into her mouth, sucking and pleasing him the same way. He closed his eyes with bliss but didn't release himself yet. They bathed each other, dried each other. Afterward, Damian picked her up bridal style and carried her to the bed.

They made gentle love, lingeringly till they were too hungry to carry on. Damian helped Angela make the Texas-style beef skillet for dinner. "I forgot to inform my brothers that we haven't gone to aunt Sandra's house. They would be worried about me," said Angela suddenly remembering.

They served themselves their dinner and sat down to eat. "I had called Adam already and informed him, " said Damian.

"What did he say? Was dad furious? I've switched off my mobile dreading a call from him,"

"He was furious. He yelled at Arnold for helping us. Arnold left home and went to spend the night with his fiancée," said Damian.

"I'm feeling guilty. He had to leave home because of me," said an unhappy Angela.

"No Angel. It's not because of us. We're not doing anything wrong. Uncle Gerry has to realise that what he's doing is wrong. He's wronged aunt Stefanie all his life and he still refuses to acknowledge it. Arnold confessed to me that he would have moved out after his wedding,  so please don't blame yourself, " explained Damian.

Angela nodded in understanding. They enjoyed dinner and went to bed.

The whole of the next day, Damian was busy with his farm while Angela took out her mom's diary to read. Although she knew what exactly happened, reading it, feeling the pain that her mom went through brought tears to her eyes.

She found out that her mom's home was in Rollingwood, where aunt Sandra lived. Her mom and aunt Sandra struggled hard to survive after their father died. She met uncle Ronald at the hospital when she joined as a nurse. They fell in love and wanted to marry one another. However, Damian's grandfather wanted his only son to marry his business partner's daughter, aunt Erika. After a lot of objection and drama, uncle Ronald was forced to give in and get married to aunt Erika.

Angela's dad was uncle Ronald's childhood friend and neighbour. He always visited the hospital to meet his friend. He met her mom on one such occasion and fell in love too. But daily he struggled with his jealousy for uncle Ronald as he had her mom, while her dad didn't.

So when he found the opportunity to marry her mom, he did, but the constant suspicion that she was still keeping a relationship with uncle Ronald, ate him up. He never could trust her completely. Uncle Ronald never stopped loving her mom. He took to drinking. One day, he found out that aunt Erika had a lover with whom she continued to maintain her relationship despite being married. Uncle Ronald was shattered.

He drank too much to forget his woes and in his drunken stupor, he saw her mom as she was about to leave after her night duty. He tried to force himself upon her and find the same comfort in the sanctity of her arms. But her dad who had gone to fetch her saw them and brought her mom home. Her mom was visibly shaken at the rape attempt but her dad was oblivious to it in his state of fury. That night onwards they had a huge fight and he broke all ties with her mom.

Her mom cried till morning. She was two weeks pregnant with Angela and couldn't declare her pregnancy under the circumstances. Later when her dad found out about the pregnancy, things started to go more downhill as he started treating her mom like trash. Her mom tried hard to prove her innocence but all her dad was adamant. When Angela was born, she conducted DNA Tests and showed him the report, yet he never believed her. For four years she tried and gave up. She changed her hospital yet uncle Ronald followed her to her new hospital. She changed her department yet there was no change in her dad's attitude towards her.

She submerged herself in her work to forget her failed relationship. Her dad brought up Angela as his own only to make uncle Ronald jealous. Later, however, her dad started loving Angela unconditionally. Uncle Ronald considered Angela to be his daughter and broke down completely when he couldn't get custody of her. It gave her dad immense pleasure to see his tortured expression and his longing for Angela and his wife when aunt Erika left him for her lover. Uncle Ronald drank more and more to destroy himself.

Her mom died trying to prove her innocence and yet her dad never cast a glance towards her. She was true to her husband yet he didn't love her.

Angela closed the diary and tears cascaded down her face after reading what her mom had to go through.

Damian walked into the cabin. He saw her and rushed over to her. "Did you read your mom's diary?" He asked in concern.

"Yes, Damian. She went through so much," Angela said and Damian hugged her close to give her comfort.

She found out why her dad didn't disown her. It all started with the intention of breaking uncle Ronald and making him jealous, afterwards he actually started loving her. Angela didn't tell Damian every little detail. They made lunch together.

For ten days they lived together at the farm in a state of bliss. Her brothers called them up to ask about them. They informed Damian and Angela that her dad was ready to go to the police but when Alex pointed out to him that they were adults, he refrained from doing so.

This convinced Angela that her dad would never bow down and accept her relationship. They decided to rent an apartment near their college and live there. Harry and Steffi informed Damian that there was a vacant apartment at their building and Damian and Angela were interested in it.

However, Angela started feeling weak and sick and all their plans had to wait till she was better.
