Chapter Nine
She tried to shout for help as well as break free but everything failed. Her drunkenness gone, she panicked to see that he was taking her to the deserted boathouse in the far end of the lake. It was a little far from the camping site and even if she shouted, no one would find her there.
She tried to kick him hard. Wesley grunted in pain,"You try that again and I'll fu*k you till you are incapable of escape. I'll make you pregnant and Xavion wouldn't want your pretty as* any more. You'll be mine, all mine," he said, holding her more tightly and walking faster.
Juliette deeply breathed in and out, to calm her nerves and think of an escape route. Wesley took her to the boathouse and opened the door. Juliette was no match against his strength.
"Please let me go Wesley, I beg of you. I love Xavion. Don't destroy my life. I accepted you as my friend. Please don't do this," she sobbed helplessly.
"Even if you make me pregnant I will take my life, you won't get my soul or body," she said, sobbing deeply.
Wesley started stripping and Juliette panicked more. "Wesley, you'll find a good girl who'll love you back, please leave me, I'm Xavion's," she begged him but he didn't listen. She frantically looked around for something to ward off Wesley.
Finding an old oar in the corner she suddenly got up and ran to fetch it. Although it was too heavy for her, still she picked it up.
"Juliette let that go, I'm warning you," said Wesley, wearing only his briefs.
"No, you come one step near me and I'll smash your head with it, I swear, " she yelled.
Suddenly, the doors flew open and Xavion stood there like a statue. He rushed inside and punched Wesley left and right, till he was a bleeding heap on the floor.
"Xavi, leave him, don't kill him. Let's go from here," she said but Xavion didn't hear a word she said.
His blood was boiling and he couldn't think straight. Suddenly, the sounds of footsteps appeared on the doorway and Wesley's friends came inside with the local sheriff. One of the police officers was Wesley's dad.
"There, arrest him," he said pointing at Xavion. Other police officers handcuffed him. Juliette screamed at them.
"Why are you arresting the one who saved me? Why don't you arrest Wesley? He tried to rape me," she screamed but no one even listened to her. They took Xavion away with them.
Juliette sobbed and ran to the campsite. She needed her mobile. She had to call her dad and Jayson for help.
She found her mobile on the camp chair where it dropped from her pocket. Picking it up, she called her dad.
Sobbing uncontrollably she told her dad everything that happened. She also gave him her location.
She frantically started packing when Damian came running like a madman, followed by Angela. She broke down in front of her friends telling them exactly what happened.
Her dad, Jayson and Jaden came in ten minutes as Travis Springs was very near. They went to the boathouse and took pictures. They recorded Juliette's FIR report. Jayson spoke to the organisers and assembled all Wesley's friends.
"If you do not speak the truth, I shall ruin you all, your careers, your life, all finished for supporting a crime. You are supporting a rapist who tried to rape my sister. I'll ensure that all of you are punished. I'm the most renowned criminal lawyer in the whole of Texas. Just wait and watch. This is my card. If you wish to speak to me confidentially you're most welcome. As for Wesley and his dad, we will sue them for arresting an innocent on false allegations," he said as he turned around and escorted Juliette outside.
"Sir, please wait, we want to tell you everything, " said Derek, Wesley's best friend.
"Very good," said Jayson as he walked back to the room and recorded everyone's testimony against Wesley.
They caught the girl who had called Juliette and she too gave her testimony against Wesley. The other student Tony also did the same.
Her dad, Jayson and Juliette went to the sheriff's office where Xavion was kept under custody. Jayson demanded to see the arrest warrant. The officer informed that they had to go for a warrantless arrest of Xavion for criminal offense of rape.
"Was it committed within your presence or view as per Texas Constitution? How did you know about it?" Asked Jayson.
"Officer Drake personally came to inform us," the officer informed.
"It was officer Drake's son Wesley Drake who attempted the rape. My client saved the victim here. Juliette Meyers here is the victim. Shouldn't you have inquired about it and taken the victim's testimony? You should have filed an FIR, then," said Jayson calmly.
"No you're wrong there Mr Meyers, " said the officer with a smirk.
"I have all the proof I need to take action against officer Drake. I will also take action against you for negligence of duty, " said Jayson.
The officer looked scared by Jayson's threat. He helped Juliette file an FIR report against Wesley.
Jayson and Christopher Meyers applied for Xavion's bail. With his huge influence, Jayson got the bail papers sanctioned and went back to the sheriff's office. They released Xavion much to Juliette's relief. She ran to him and clung to him.
"Oh, Xavi, I was so scared, " she said, hiding her face in his chest.
"It's ok baby, you've saved me, didn't you? I'm so proud of you," he said, smiling with relief at Jayson and her dad.
He thanked them profusely and hugged them both. They were like his real family.
Damian, Angela and Jaden packed all their camping stuff and loaded it onto Xavion's truck. Damian loaded his stuff onto his truck. He drove Xavion's truck while Angela drove Damian's truck. Jaden was only seventeen and he didn't have a license to drive so he just accompanied Angela. They drove to the police station just in time to see that Xavion had been released.
Damian hugged Xavion tightly. "You fool, why did you go alone? Anything could have happened to you both, " scolded Damian.
"Let's go home, children. It's very late," said Juliette's dad. "You can all come over to my house, it's nearby and there's room for all of you."
They all followed Juliette's dad to his house. It was a luxuriously decorated sprawling mansion. They were shown to their rooms and everyone retired for the night.
The next morning, they all overslept. A late breakfast was served and everyone gathered at the huge dining hall. Stella served mouth watering food and they all gobbled it all up. Lots of jokes, chatting went on at the table. Xavion sat between Juliette's dad and Jayson.
"You're looking very stressed, Xavion," said Juliette's father. Xavion stared at uncle Chris incredulously. How did he know that he was stressed about the company? The truth was that he was unable to figure out the company policies all on his own. The financial advisors as well as the production managers were not doing their jobs. With no one to look into their work, they were simply taking things easy. Xavion needed to shuffle and change his team in the office. His uncle was busy with his lady love and planning his wedding. He had dumped the responsibility on him and escaped.
"Yeah, I can't figure out what to do with the company on my own. It's sinking and I need to rethink strategies to pull it up. Uncle is getting married and shifting to LA. He's least bothered to help me," he confessed.
Jayson thought about it for a moment and then said,"Dad, we could take Greg Adler, our financial consultant and go to Xavion's office and help him out."
Xavion's eyes brightened at his suggestion. He was an eighteen year old teenager after all. A gradual shift would have been the best option for him but his uncle forgot that he was still a first semester university student.
"That would be very helpful Jayson, " he said and uncle Chris smiled.
"Done, then from tomorrow onwards we will drop at your office once a day and figure out how to pull up your company," said Christopher Meyers.
Xavion grinned happily, "Thank you uncle Chris, thanks Jayson, " he said.
"My pleasure, son," said uncle Chris.
"We could work on the take over also since your uncle is least interested, " said Jayson and Xavion nodded his head.
"Then you would have to opt out of regular classes at the university sooner than you planned?" Asked uncle Chris.
"Yeah, maybe after this semester," he said, looking at Juliette with longing. How he wished that he could spend five years at college with Juliette.
Juliette smiled at him as she sat opposite Xavion and listened to their discussion. She was happy that her dad and brother were helping out Xavion.
"The current workforce isn't performing at all," said Xavion.
"Then we can evaluate each one's performance and if needed recruit a new team," said Jayson and Xavion nodded his head.
"Yeah, I was thinking that too," he said.
They planned when they would visit the office tomorrow and other stuff.
After spending time with her family, Juliette left after lunch with Xavion. Even Damian and Angela took their leave. Xavion parked his truck outside her apartment and picking up his backpack, walked into the building with her.
"I'll be staying with you. I will go home tomorrow morning," he said with a grin. Juliette too grinned shyly, knowing fully well that he was planning to spend the night with her.
They walked into the apartment. Juliette loaded the washing machine with their dirty, soiled clothes. Then she switched on a movie and they sat down on her bed to watch.
"I didn't sleep well last night," said Xavion, looking into her eyes.
"Why?" She asked him.
"You didn't sleep with me, " he said, making a sad face.
Juliette giggled. "Dad would kill us if he found out," she said and Xavion grinned.
"Yeah, he would have chased me away with a gun. Does he have a gun?" He asked her curiously.
"Yeah, he does," she told him, making a dramatic face.
Xavion touched his heart and feigned a heart attack hearing the information. She giggled.
They watched the movie, it was a comedy. By the time it was over, they had laughed more than they had ever laughed in their lives.
"That was the funniest movie I've ever seen," said Xavion and Juliette agreed.
"Let's order dinner tonight. What do you say?" He asked and she agreed. They poured over the menus available and selected Italian pizza, calzone, sausages with polenta and pasta.
The dinner arrived and they tucked in hungrily. They discussed the case that they would slam against Wesley and his dad the next day. Xavion had already discussed with Jayson and uncle Chris about it. He had to stop Wesley once and for all and there was only one way to do it. He had to stop his dad officer Drake, from supporting him in his wrongdoings.
They finished dinner, cleaned up and stored the leftovers in the refrigerator. Juliette shyly went into her bedroom to change. She took out her pyjama shorts and top but before she could go into her en-suite, Xavion picked her up and placed her on his lap as he sat on her bed.
"What are you doing, Xavi?" She whispered.
"I'm proposing to you," he said, grinning as Juliette's eyes popped out. "So will you be my girlfriend?" He asked, hope shining in his eyes.
"Yes, boyfriend, I will be your girlfriend, " she said grinning shyly.
They made out a lot, kissed a lot and eventually went to sleep in each other's arms.
Tomorrow Xavion would figure out his company matters, deal with Wesley and his dad and also think of his educational plans but for tonight he was happy to be in the arms of the love of his life, his girlfriend, his Juliette.
